Australia almost won the third match against England last night but the English all-rounder Ben Stokes played a hell of a knock to bring his team back into the game. Many are saying Australian captain Tim Paine’s DRS review in the last hour of the match which went against him was the moment he lost the match.
Former Australian captain and legendary batsman Ian Chappell said to Channel Nine “When Leach got hit on the pad, clearly not out, by any stretch of the imagination, and the Australian's reviewed it? That was the moment the situation got to them, and Tim Paine lost his brain. Everyone knows it's way outside leg. Why would they go through with it (the review)?”
Tim Paine took a review against England tailsman Jack Leach off Pat Cummins’ delivery. The ball was clearly pitching outside leg. Australia lost a review and when Nathan Lyon hit Ben Stokes on pads and the umpire didn’t raise his finger. Australia had no review left to take and everyone was pissed off.
England won the match as Ben Stokes scored a century which included 8 sixes. England chased down 359 runs in the fourth innings which is a record for them as they had never chased more than 350 runs in a Test against Australia.
