The former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had predicted a great future for cricketer Mohammad Kaif who was batted against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Phulpur constituency.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee used to talk about Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif during 2004 election rallies in Uttar Pradesh. He cited that “one of your sons” Kaif has done a “splendid job” in Pakistan winning matches for India.
Kaif took to twitter expressed his grief over Atal Bihari Vajpayee's death and said "One of the finest leaders, India has ever had. Feel a lot of gratitude for the love he showered upon me and also wished well for me in an election rally. The nation will miss him. Condolences to his loved ones".

Kaif shared the article of Deccan Herald in which he was hailed from Allahabad in one of the election rallies in Maharajganj, Vajpayee was quoted as saying, “He (Kaif) stretched out his hand and the ball was in his grip. He hit the balls outside boundaries, changing the colour of the game. And remember, he is from Uttar Pradesh.
