Team India's former coach Anil Kumble has broken the silence on his “Secret WhatsApp Group”. Kumble has also apologized to the media about this group. However, he made a big statement about India against South Africa series to be held. He has said that he is confident about the performance of the Indian team. Kumble made these statements during a program in Karnataka. Kumble also won the "Coach of the Year" honour at Sports Writers Association of Bangalore (SWAB) annual awards ceremony 2017. Kumble praised Team captain Virat Kohli and the rest of the team during this occasion. He said that India can create history against South Africa. The team can go beyond that too.
The former bowler also talked for the first time on his Secret WhatsApp Group, which he himself had created. Here he used to provide information related to the cricket world to the journalists. Kumble said, “Sorry to all journalists for not putting you all in my WhatsApp group.”
In a report published in the English newspaper DNA, an official of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (on condition of anonymity) said, “We've been told that there is a WhatsApp group created by Kumble of his few trusted media friends and few confidential talks between him and senior players were leaked through that.”
