Indian origin cricketer Harish Gangadharan died playing club cricket in New Zealand On Saturday, 33-year-old Harish Gangadharan was playing for the Green Iceland Cricket Club in Dunedin. After bowling two overs in the match, Gangadharan said that he is having difficulty in breathing. After which the medical facility was provided to him but he could not be saved.
After bowling two overs on the Sunnyvale Sport Center ground, Gangadharan complained of difficulty in breathing, after this he lay down on the pitch. His colleagues tried their best but he did not get up. During this time, he got help from medical team but Gangadharan could not be saved. Harish lived in Dunedin with his wife Nisha Harish and three year old Gauti.
On the sudden death of Harish Gangadharan, the club's President John Boys has expressed deep sorrow. In his condolence message he said that I am shocked by the death of Harish Gangadharan, a member of the Green Iceland Cricket Club. Other players of the team said that Gangadharan was absolutely fit and used to open the batting and bowling for his team.
His colleagues say that Gangadharan was a great all-rounder. Gangadharan played in six seasons for the Green Iceland Cricket Club. Harish Gangadharan, who was born and brought up in Kochi, Kerala and moved to New Zealand five years ago with his wife. According to reports, body of Gangadharan will be brought to India by Monday or Tuesday.
