We all know that swashbuckling South African batsman AB de Villiers, who is nicknamed Mr. 360, is one of the most destructive in world cricket at the moment.
He has time and again single-handedly destroyed the best of bowlers with his mix of traditional and unconventional shots and has been causing fears in the minds of the opposition, especially the captains.
Following his splendid batting display during Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) eight-wicket defeat against Kings XI Punjab in their Indian Premier League (IPL) clash on Monday, former South African pacer Allan Donald dubbed him as the ` scariest player on the planet'.
Kings XI Punjab's bowlers did a great job to keep de Villiers off strike for as long as they could after he walked in during the first over. He though smashed nine sixes with three flying out of the stadium to score 89 off the 46 balls he did face, including 58 off his last 18 to drive RCB to a defendable total of 148 in their 20 stipulated overs.
Although the RCB slumped to an eight-wicket defeat, the Proteas ODI skipper produced one of the most blistering innings of the competition so far.
"I did battle against some serious batters in my time. @ABdeVilliers17 is the scariest player on the planet I have ever seen. #breathtaking," Donald has tweeted.
Now, left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat, who is in Rising Super Giant squad, has showered praise on the 33-year-old by labeling him as a 'toofani batsman'.
"AB de Villiers is the one whom you can term as a 'toofani batsman' because he is someone who can destroy you even if you bowl well. There are others who are good as well," Unadkat said in an exclusive conversation with ANI.
The South African ODI skipper can play shots all around the wicket and is equally adept at playing the fast and slower bowlers. In fact, there isn't a bowler in the world that seem to bother him and all these qualities do make de Villiers a 'toofani batsman'.
