Rashid Khan

Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan is one of the best bowlers in the world right now. Rashid Khan recently came under a lot of flak after he conceded 110 runs from 9 overs in a World Cup match against England. Rashid Khan became the most expensive bowler in the history of ODI cricket.

Iceland cricket took to its official Twitter handle to mock Rashid Khan for his expensive bowling. Iceland cricket wrote, “We’ve just heard that Rashid Khan has scored Afghanistan’s first century of the #CWC19! Wow! 110 from 56 balls. The most runs ever scored by a bowler in the World Cup or something. Well batted young man. #ENGvAFG #AFGvENG.”

Many cricketers including Jofra Archer of England came in Rashid Khan’s defence and criticised Iceland cricket for their poor joke. After the criticism Iceland cricket had to issue an apology as they wrote, “We’re really sorry. Mick Lewis goes for 113 off 60. Stuart Broad goes for 36 off 6. Ben Stokes goes for 24 off 4. Everybody had a laugh at them. We didn’t see this as any different. But evidently, it is. Hands up. We apologize. @JofraArcher @lukewright204 @ish_sodhi @dizzy259.”

Afghanistan lost to England by 150 runs as Eoin Morgan scored 148 runs from just 77 balls to help post the highest total (397) of World Cup 2019.
