Afghanistan beat Bangladesh by 25 runs to win their 12th consecutive T20I match. Afghanistan created history as they set the world record for most consecutive T20Is victory. Afghanistan broke their own record of 11 consecutive T20I victories last night against Bangladesh.
Afghanistan is playing a T20I tri-series in Bangladesh where they won both their matches so far. Afghanistan’s winning-streak started in February 2018 when they beat Zimbabwe twice in two days in Sharjah. Afghanistan then beat Bangladesh in India by 3-0 and whitewashed Ireland by 2-0.
The T20I match against Bangladesh yesterday was a low scoring affair as Afghanistan scored just 164 runs while batting first in the game.
Mohammad Nabi, who was awarded man of the match, earlier helped Afghanistan recover from 40-4 with his fourth Twenty20 international fifty, which featured three fours and seven sixes. Nabi received great help from former skipper Asghar Afghanas the duo notched up a 79 run partnership stand together.
Mujeeb-ur-Rahman took three wickets in his first spell to reduce the home side to 38-4. Afghanistan skipper Rashid Khan also took two wickets at the end.
