7 people dead after a dispute over cricket match led to gunfire in Pakistan

Seven people were killed in a gun fight in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkwa province following dispute over a cricket match among chidren.

The incident took place in Pakistan's Abbottabad district where Osama Bin Laden was also killed in 2011. The rival parties went to register a case against each other after their children had a quarrel playing cricket, deputy superintendent of Police Ijaz Khan said.

The rival parties opened fire at each other when they came face to face at the police station.

Izaj Khan said, "one party opened fire to which the other party, which was also heavily armed, retaliated and responded with gun fires".

The exchange of fire left seven persons dead from both sides at the spot and one other injured.

“Three persons belong to one party and four from other party died respectively,” he added.
