Bollywood iconic actor Vinod Khanna breathed his last at 11.20 am on Thursday and left the Indian film industry in tears.
The actor had been battling cancer for years and reportedly died due to advanced bladder carcinoma.
Born on October 6, 1946 in a Punjabi family in Peshawar, Vinod starred in several hit movies from 'Dayawan' to 'Purab aur Paschim'.
In all his glory, Vinod Khanna acted in 141 films between 1968 and 2015. Though the actor made his movie debut as a villain in the film 'Man Ka Meet' of Sunil Dutt in 1968, he eventually start winning hearts in the lead roles later in his life.
He entered politics and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. The actor has served as the Minister of State for Tourism and Culture in 2002.
