Salman Khan, who plays a 'special' character in the upcoming highly-anticipated Kabir Khan-directorial, says it is the most difficult thing to maintain the simplicity, honesty and purity of the character in films like 'Tubelight'.
At the recently held trailer launch, Dabangg Khan was asked if it is hard to portray a character like the one in this film, to which the actor replied, "If you're able to visualise the character after reading the screenplay and the story, you will be able to do the character perfectly. Out here it's not only walking, it's also the way he talks is very different. He is pure. And to do a pure character is the most difficult thing there is."
"In our lives, we are not like the purest of people. So, to portray someone like, maybe a character from 'Hum Apke Hain Kaun' or to portray someone from ' Bajrangi Bhaijan' or 'Tubelight', it's the most difficult thing because to maintain the simplicity, the honesty and the purity of the character is the most difficult thing that one has to do in films like this one," said the 51-year-old.
"It is your own personality that goes against you in films like 'Tubelight'," Salman concluded.
At the trailer launch, Salman also spoke of his experiences of shooting the movie. He said he got genuinely emotional at times and actually cried. He also said that he misses the late Om Puri, who plays a vital role in the film.
'Tubelight' is slated to release on June 23.
