Amid coronavirus outbreak across the nation, many Indian celebrities have extended their supports via PM CAREs and CM relief fund to fight COVID-19. But there is a celebrity who is volunteering as a nurse at an isolation ward for the treatment of coronavirus patients in a Mumbai hospital.

It’s Bollywood actress Shikha Malhotra, who once appeared in the Shah Rukh Khan film, is now working as a nurse in Mumbai Hospital.

She shared the information in a video that she posted on Instagram. “At a time like this, when everyone is locked, people like me who are degree holders, retired nurses or health professionals, don’t feel right being locked at home because it’s our duty to serve the country,” the actress wrote.

In the video, she can be heard saying that she had applied to several different hospitals in Mumbai—from Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital, Dr. R N Cooper Municipal General Hospital to Medical Research Institute.

She revealed that finally she has been assigned in the isolation ward of Hindu Hruday Samrat Balasaheb Thackerey Trauma Centre in Mumbai’s Jogeshwari.

Shikha also requested her followers to abide to the request made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to stay indoors during the lockdown.

The actress also said that she was “satisfied” that the purpose for which she had studied medicine has come true.

Let us inform you that Malhotra is a graduate in B.Sc nursing from Delhi’s Vardhaman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital.

However, Malhotra has been posting several updates of her time as a nurse at the isolation ward on her social media account.

Besides becoming frontline worker during this pandemic, Shikha was recently starred in the Hindi-Rajasthani film Kaanchli Life in a Slough, alongside veteran actor Sanjay Mishra.
