Ajay Devgn, Kajol and Saif Ali Khan’s film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior hit the box office hard on its first day. The garnered immense appreciation both from critics and audiences. The film released alongside Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey’s Chhapaak and even managed to defeat the film by earning in double digits.
On its first day, the film collected Rs 15.10 crores and as per trade analyst Taran Adarsh during weekends the film might see solid growth.

Not just Chhapaak the film is also competing with Rajnikath’s film Darbar and is facing stiff competition in the southern states. The film witnessed encouraging footfalls in North and East India as well as in Rajasthan.
Well, the film also marks the return of Ajay and Kajol together after a very long time. The film was released across at 3880 screens in India and 660 screens overseas. The film has been released in two versions that is Hindi and Marathi.
In the film, Saif is playing a negative role i.e Udaybhan Singh Rathod while Ajay is seen portraying the role of Maratha warrior Tanhaji Malusare in the film. The Maratha warrior fought the Battle of Sinhagad against Udaybhan. Kajol is seen in the role of Tanhaji’s wife Savitribai Malusare.
