Sunil Dutt never allowed a biopic on Raj Kapoor

Showman Raj Kapoor has always been an inspiration for the film industry for how he made social message films even when the entire film industry was fighting for its existence.

Many filmmakers wanted to make a biopic on the legend but it never happened. Earlier, when Rishi Kapoor shared many facts about his father in his biography Khullam Khulla, it was being speculated that now a biopic will be made on showman.

Rishi Kapoor has given a strict warning to the filmmakers who are even thinking about making a biopic on Raj Kapoor. He has warned filmmakers that if anyone wants to make a film on Raj Kapoor, he/she will have to assure his family that it won't be sensational. The reason behind this is that Rishi doesn't want to hurt anyone's sentiments.

This is to notice that there were the strong rumours in the industry that Raj Kapoor had an extra marital affair with legendary actress Nargis, who later married to actor Sunil Dutt. So, when Sunil Dutt was alive he never allowed the Nargis chapter in Raj Kapoor's biography. But the filmmakers always claimed that without Nargis chapter, Raj Kapoor's biopic will not be worth.

Earlier, there were the speculations that Bobby Bedi, who has made films like Mangal Pandey and Saathiya, had asked Kapoor family for the biopic and he even asked Ranbir Kapoor to play the lead in the film but the Kapoor family didn't allow the project.
