Amid all speculations, filmmaker Subhash Ghai recalled a conversation with Rishi Kapoor during an interview. He revealed that the late actor was planning for a grand wedding of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in December 2020.
However, Rishi Kapoor’s dream was not fulfilled as he died due to cancer on April 30, 2020.
In an interview with the Bombay Times, Subhash Ghai said that he had gone to meet Rishi Kapoor in January 2020. The late actor told the filmmaker that he was planning for his son, Ranbir Kapoor’s wedding to Alia Bhatt in December 2020.
"I remember in January 2020, when I had gone to meet Rishi Kapoor at his home to invite him to receive the WWI Maestro award 2020 at our annual convocation of Whistling Woods International. We had a long chat like good friends. He was so happy to share with me that they were planning his son Ranbir’s marriage with Alia in December 2020 in a big way. But he left us all with deep grief suddenly."
Meanwhile, we are waiting for confirmation about the wedding date from star couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
In an interview, Subhash Ghai further mentioned that Rishi Kapoor’s dream would be fulfilled if Ralia tied the knot.
He also wished the couple and said, “Today, I am so happy that Ranbir and Alia are finally fulfilling his dream. I wish both a happy married life, the way I always did for Rishi and Neetu Kapoor.”
