Sonam Kapoor or Anushka Sharma, who wore what on their wedding, mehendi and sangeeet functions?
Bollywood just witnessed the wedding of the year with Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja's marriage that took place yesterday in Mumbai. The event was a grand one and was attended by close friends and family members followed by a grand reception where the whole industry was present to congratulate and bless the newly wed couple.
Sonam's wedding reminded us of Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli's wedding that happened last year and was the wedding of 2017. Their marriage, unlike Sonam and Anand's was a private affair that happened in Tuscany, Italy away from all the media glazes and was a private affair attended by only close family members.
Sonam and Anushka both looked beautiful in the bridal avatar. On one hand where Anushka chose the colour pink for her bridal lehenga, Sonam opted for the traditional red colour. Talking about their bridal avatar only, Anushka wore pastel-hued Sabyasachi outfit from head to toe including the jewellery while Sonam went all bright and gold in Anuradha Vakil's wedding outfit.
Talking about their mehendi look, they both look splendid at their respective functions. Anushka went all colourful and floral in her Sabysachi lehenga. She wore a hot-pink, yellow and blue printed outfit along with gotta patti in her dress.
Sonam, on the other hand wore a light pink coloured outfit.
On her sangeet ceremony, Sonam was seen in a white and a gold lehenga designed by Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla which was accessorised with a kundan choker, matching earrings, maang tika and bangles. Sonam wore Anushka, on her engagement ceremony went all glamorous with Sabysachi's maroon velvet saree paired with uncut diamond jewellery and a bun with red roses.
Anushka, had two wedding receptions, one which was held in Delhi for all the relatives and the other one was held in Mumbai for all the friends and people from the industry and Sonam's wedding reception was also held in Mumbai.
Sonam wore a copper-grey lehenga with a full-sleeves blouse, featured stripes at the hem, a heavy four-tier diamond neckpiece, smokey eyes, bold red lips and cheek fleek hair. Anushka, on the other hand, during her Delhi reception wore a red Banarasi sari with intricate golden motifs and thin zardosi border. During her Mumbai reception, Anushka wore a smoky grey lehenga that had flowers, textured sequins and silver threads on it paired with rose cut diamonds, solitaires and briolettes from the collection of Sabyasachi fine jewellery.
