Shikara: Big jolt to Vidhu Vinod Chopra as netizens trend #BoycottShikara for ‘hiding the reality’

Shikara: The Untold Story Of Kashmiri Pandits’ is hitting the headlines ever since the film released on Friday. The Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s film that narrates the ordeal of Kashmiri Pandits is receiving backlash from the audience. The internet is trending #BoycottShikara as according to the people the film hide the reality and commercialised the genocide.

They also stated that the film should be shunned for twisting the facts, one of the users wrote, “It's an insult to those who were forced to Kashmiri Pandits, shame on the entire film crew #Boycott_Shikara”


 

Whereas another user wrote, “@VVCFilms is insulting the Hindu woman & society.. 99% of Bollywood movies are 2-3hour long sponsored advertisements, to spread propaganda stories, preaching fake secularism & showing manipulated history/facts #Boycott_Shikara#Shikara”

 

Also, there were reports that a woman belonging to the Kashmiri Pandit community broke down after watching Shikara and then lashed out at the director for commercialising the plight of the people. The lady started shouting at Vidhu when he came after the screening to interact with the audience. The video of the same is also going viral on all social media platforms.

Even, BJP’s veteran politician LK Advani was also present at the special screening who was snapped crying after watching the film.

 

Earlier, Deepika Padukone’s Chapaak falls prey to the boycott trend after he stood in solidarity with the students at Jawaharlal Nehru University. However, the actress stood strong and didn't let such criticism affect her or her skills.
