Reminiscing his 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' days with late actress Reema Lagoo, Bollywood's Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan, on Thrusday, said that she was a brilliant actor, with a heart of gold.
While talking to the media here, the 52-year-old actor expressed his sorrow by saying that the sudden demise of Reemaji was extremely saddening and her fans are in a state of shock.
"She was healthy and doing well. Her sudden death is saddening. My first film was with Reemaji 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak'. She was a brilliant actor with a heart of gold. She had great interest in social issues, much better than youngsters. May her soul rest in peace," the 'Dangal star added.
Echoing the similar sentiments, director of her famous TV soap 'Tu Tu Mai Mai' Sachin Pilgaonkar told ANI, "Reemaji's demise is a big loss. She had not only contributed to the cinema, but has also done a lot in the field of art. She was a versatile actor and started her career from Marathi stage."
Stating that the 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' star was his childhood friend, Sachin said, "She left us so early, which was never expected. I am shattered but the truth is that its destiny."
Reema Lagoo, 59, passed away in the wee hours of Thursday at Mumbai's Kokilaben Hospital, following a cardiac arrest.
The actress was born on February 3 in 1958 and appeared in Marathi and Hindi films, theatres and television shows, serving the industry for nearly four decades.
She is known for her roles in movies like 'Hum Aapke Hain Kaun,' 'Kal Ho Na Ho' and 'Vaastav' and TV shows like 'Shrimaan Shrimati' and 'Tu Tu Main Main'.
Presently, Lagoo was working for the daily soap 'Namkaran,' where she was portraying the character Dayawanti Mehta.
