The film traces the life of protagonist Murad, played by Ranveer Singh. Gully Boy showcases Murad’s journey from the slums of Dharavi to becoming a mainstream rapper. Alia Bhatt plays his love interest in the film. The film also features Kalki Koechlin, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Vijay Raaz and Vijay Varma in pivotal roles. The film is loosely inspired by the lives and work of rappers Naezy and Divine.
Meanwhile, Farhan Akhtar will be next seen in 'The Sky is Pink' alongside Priyanka Chopra, while Ranveer Singh will star in a biographical drama '83, based on the life of Indian cricketer Kapil Dev.
