Ranbir Kapoor who has just won Filmfare award for his performance in Rajkumar Hirani's film Sanju is currently busy in his two ambitious projects Brahmastra and Shamshera. He has completed the shooting of Brahamstra, but he is busy in the shooting of Shamshera where he will be seen playing a dacoit.
Now one interesting development has come out from Shamshera and it is happening for the first time in Ranbir Kapoor's career. Mid-Day quoted a source, "The film revolves around a dacoit tribe that is fighting for its rights and independence from the British Raj. Apart from playing the protagonist, Ranbir might also be seen as the central character's father. He has been shooting for both roles simultaneously. This is the first time in his 12-year-long career so far that Ranbir will play a double role."
Talking about Shamshera, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt in the leading roles. Vaani Kapoor is training for Kathak dance for the film, while Sanjay Dutt will be playing the leading villain in the film. Let us tell you that Shamshera is the comeback of Ranbir Kapoor to Yash Raj Films after their last collaboration Rocket Singh Salesman Of The Year in 2009.
Shamshera is slated to release on 20th July 2020, and it will clash with SS Rajamouli directorial film RRR, starring Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Ram Charan Teja, and Jr NTR in the leading roles. Well, before that Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt will be seen together in Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra slated to release on Christmas 2019.
