The new movie of Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn's 'Raid' got released on the silver screens on 16th March 2018 but had already created a stir after the trailer of the film got released. The makers of the film planned a strategy in which they decided to reduce the promotions of the film that was thought to become a barrier in the collections of the film.

Well, the first day box-office collection of Raid is finally out and the movie has managed to collect a huge amount of 10 Crores on just day one of its release. Earlier film trade analyst, Girish Johar said, “Raid is expected to open to a collection of Rs 8-8.5 crore on Friday. Despite the fact that Raid is being headlined by an A-lister like Ajay Devgn, it does not have the ‘masala’ Bollywood kind of appeal for audiences. Raid’s box-office success largely depends on its word-of-mouth promotion in the coming days.”

The film is directed by Rajkumar Gupta and shows the biggest raid in which Ajay can be seen playing the role of an Income Tax officer. The plot of the film revolves around an incident that happened in Lucknow in 1981. Opposite Ajay, there is Ileana D'Cruz who is seen playing the role of Ajay's lady love.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter account to share the record of the movie and tweeted, "After an ordinary start in morning shows, #Raid jumped post noon onwards... Evening/night shows saw super growth... A double digit start for a non-masala, realistic film is heartening... Strong word of mouth should boost numbers on Sat and Sun... Fri ₹ 10.04 cr. India biz."

He also tweeted the opening day collection of top 5 movies of the year 2018 and wrote, "TOP 5 2018 - Opening Day
