Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt starrer Panipat hit the theatres yesterday however failed to mark its place in the box-office. The period drama film helmed by famous director Ashutosh Gowariker garnered mix response from the critics as well from the audience. The film which clashed with rom-com film Pati Patni Aur Woh starring Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday failed to leave its impact.
As per Taran Adarsh tweet, the film collected Rs 4.12 crores on its first day of release, well makers are of hope that by 2nd and 3rd day film collects fair amount. He wrote, “#Panipat records low numbers on Day 1... Reports [word of mouth] are positive and its biz, hopefully, should see a turnaround on Day 2 and 3... Fri ₹ 4.12 cr [2395 screens]. #India biz... Showcasing at multiplexes affected due to excessive run time [close to 3 hours].”

After a gap of 3 years, Ashutosh made his come back with Panipat. The film revolves around the historic incident The Third Battle of Panipat which took place on 14th January 1761. The battle was between the Marathas and King of Afghanistan, Ahmad Shah Abdali. The film is released in over 1,500 screens in India and over 600 screens in the overseas market.
