Mahashivratri, which happens to be one of the most important festivals of the Hindus, where Lord Shiva is worshipped, is being observed today throughout the country. Fasts are kept and offerings of milk and bael are given to the temples in the name of the Lord. Lord Shiva, in the Hindu mythology, is considered one of the most powerful one. Draped with a snake around his neck and dreadlocks, Lord Shiva also happens to have a charismatic personality.

If we talk about the great night of Shiva or the Mahashivratri, it is falling on 4th March, 2019 and here's when the people organize 'bhandaras' and offer food to the needy. It is generally said that the day marks the convergence of the divine powers of Lord Shiva and Shakti (the female power).
