Responding to the reports of a fatwa issued against him, Sonu Nigam declared that he is ready to get his head shaved, adding 'Keep your 10 lakhs ready Maulvi.'
Taking to Twitter, the 43-year-old wrote, 'Today at 2 pm Aalim will come to my place, and shave my head. Keep your 10 lakhs ready Maulavi. And Press is welcome to participate at 2 pm.'
For the unversed, a Kolkata-based cleric, reportedly, issued a fatwa against the 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' singer on Tuesday where he announced an award of Rs. 10 lakhs for the person who will shave the latter's hair off.
'If anyone can shave his hair, put a garland of old torn shoes around his neck and tour him around the country, I personally announce an award of Rs 10 lakh for that person,' said Syed Sha Atef Ali Al Quaderi, vice president, West Bengal Minority United Council.
Sonu, who was woken up to the sound of Azaan early in the morning, took social media by storm after terming the practice as 'forced religiousness,' on April 17.
His controversial tweets evoked a mixed response on the Internet and among every genre of people in the nation.
