Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh is in the controversies these days for the way the character has been disrespectful towards the women. Many critics have criticized the director and the film for showing a toxic character a leading hero of the film.
Even director Sandeep Reddy Vanga came in the controversies after he defended the leading character of Kabir Singh in one his interview. Sandeep said, "When you are deeply in love and deeply connected with a woman, and vice versa, there's a lot of honesty in it. If you don't have that physical demonstration... you don't have the liberty of slapping each other, then I don't see anything there."

However, the director has got flooded with the negative response through his comment on the controversy. Many have even called that he proves people like Kabir Singh and Arjun Reddy exists in the world. The director is receiving flake from all over the nation and even actress like Samantha Ruth Prabhu has shown her disappointment with the statement.

Shahid said that he was just playing the character as an artist and don't endorse, subscribe or even glorify his behaviour. His character is flawed and it is great that people are aware of that fact. He just wanted to give masses a different style of experience and it is great that he succeeded in the same.
