Director Sanjay Gupta has recently announced his next film 'Mumbai Saga' and after the announcement, it looks like that the director is planning something like his previous biggie Kaante. 2002 released Kaante starring Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Lucky Ali, Mahesh Manjrekar and others was no doubt one of the finest films made on the gangster drama.

Even the popular Hollywood director Quentin Tarantino had said that Kaante was no doubt the best remake of his film Reservoir Dogs. All things were in the favour of Sanjay Gupta till he had a fight with actor Sanjay Dutt. The fight really pushed him to leave filmmaking and started working at a hotel. Sanjay Gupta recently himself told that what he had to go through after fallout with Sanjay Dutt.

"Kaante happened and one didn't have to look back till there was a gap just before Shootout At Wadala for almost four years. Ninety per cent of the film industry wasn't willing to work with me. They were told to not work with me after my fallout with Sanju," Gupta told PTI.

The filmmaker told that no one was ready to collaborate with him as 70 per cent of the industry boycotted him after that fight. "That was an exceptionally low phase. I had almost given up. I had started working in a hotel in Khandala and used to go there four days a week. I thought this is my future, since I won't be getting work in the industry," told Kaabil director.

However, he told that he had to bounce back when he took his son in his arms and felt what he is leaving for him. "I was holding him in my arms, and I thought, 'What am I going to leave for him'? 'Since when have I become a quitter'? I started at the age of 15, made my first film at the age of 22, now why was I ready to quit at 40?" told Gupta.

"Ekta Kapoor and I had spoken about a sequel of Shootout at Lokhandwala. So I picked up the phone and told her, 'I'm ready' and that's it. Later, I met John Abraham and Anil Kapoor and they said yes. But they were also told not to work with me," Sanjay Gupta added.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Gupta also appreciated Anil Kapoor for standing out for him and gave a bold statement in the support of him. "Anil had given a statement saying 'if Sanju (Sanjay Dutt) directly tells me, don't work with Gupta, I won't. But he will have to give me a reason about why I shouldn't'. That was very gracious of Anil to make that statement in my support," Gupta told PTI.
