Is Sabbir Khan going back on his earlier claim of being approached to direct Dabangg 3?

Sabbir refutes the rumour of him directing Salman Khan in third part

 After Arbaaz Khan rubbished the reports that Sabbir Khan has been offered to direct Salman Khan’s third instalment of Dabangg, the director has also denied it. Arbaaz has said that there is no truth to the buzz. Sabbir too decided to clear the air on Twitter, “Contrary to rumours I haven't been approached for Dabbang 3 as far as I know @PDdancing is directing and my best to@arbaazSkhan.”(sic)

However the reports clearly stated that Sabbir has been approached for to direct the film and carried his quote saying that he is happy to get a chance to direct Salman Khan. So who exactly is telling the truth, one is not sure.

Sabbir’s third directorial Munna Michael released this week with Tiger Shroff and he is yet to announce his next project. As far as Dabangg is concerned, Salman Khan and Sonakshi will feature in the third part but according to one of Salman’s interview.
