Golmaal Again box office collection: Ajay Devgn, Rohit Shetty film flies high on opening weekend

Rohit Shetty directorial Golmaal Again, the fourth instalment of his hit franchise Golmaal has opened very well at the box office. The film has taken high on its opening day that was a day after Diwali. This film has a huge star cast which brings lots of happiness on audience faces. Maybe the big star cast is what the USP of Golmaal franchise.

The Ajay Devgn starring film started with 30.14 crores on its opening day which is highest for the Golmaal franchise. Even the second highest for Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty combo as their another sequel film Singham Returns started with 32.09 crores. Now on the second day which was on Saturday and also on the special holiday of Bhai Dooj, the film has taken some jump.

On the second day at the box office, Golmaal Again collected 28.37 crores, which brought the total collection of the film to 58.51 crores. With this, the film has already crossed 50 crores mark at the box office in just two days. Now the film has Sunday and the whole week, and even after one week, there is no big film to compete with Golmaal Again.

However, the film is already facing tough competition from Aamir Khan starrer Secret Superstar which also features Dangal fame actress Zaira Wasim. Both films Golmaal Again and Secret Superstar have got good reviews and word of mouth.

However, when there is a huge star cast like Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Parineeti Chopra, Tabu, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, and Kunal Khemmu in leading roles for Golmaal Again, then surely they will be much heavier on Zaira Wasim's film Secret Superstar. Talking about Secret Superstar, then the film was released on Diwali, Thursday, 19th October, and it started with 4.80 crores, however, later on, the second day the film got almost double and collected 9.30 crores, then on Saturday, its third day the film collected 8.65 crores. With this, Secret Superstar till now has collected 22.75 crores.
