#Chhapaak sees day-wise growth, but the weekend trending is good, not great... Collects well at premium multiplexes of urban sectors mainly... Needs to trend well on weekdays for a healthy Week 1 total... Fri 4.77 cr, Sat 6.90 cr, Sun 7.35 cr. Total: ₹ 19.02 cr. #India biz.

Before the release of the film Deepika showed up at JNU campus to express solidarity, however, it turned the tables as right-wingers started opposing her and boycotted her film giving space to Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan’s Tanhaji and Rajnikanth’s Darbar. And this can be the reason why the film’s collection is a snail pace.

Talking about the film then it is a social drama based on the real-life incident of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal who was attacked by acid at the age of 15 by a stalker. After fighting with the odds she subsequently founded the Stop Acid Sale campaign and received International Women of Courage award in 2014.
Deepika and Vikrant’s film clashed with Ajay Devgn, Kajol and Saif Ali Khan’s Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior which is riding high on the success.
