Chetan Bhagat has sparked another controversy on social media after he made some serious allegations against Vidhu Vinod Chopra, producer of 3 idiots.
Taking his thoughts to Twitter, Bhagat opened up how he was bullied by the Chopra when 3 idiots got released in 2009.
Aamir Khan starrer 3 idiots was based on Bhagat’s book, Five Point Someone. Bhagat requested critics to be fair and sensible to Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film, Dil Bechara, which will be released on Disney+Hotstar on Friday, July 24.
Chetan wrote, “Sushant's last film releases this week. I want to tell the snob and elitist critics right now, write sensibly. Don't act over smart. Don't write rubbish. Be fair and sensible. Don't try your dirty tricks. You have ruined enough lives. Now stop. We'll be watching (sic).”

This tweet of Anupama brought a shocking reaction from Chetan Bhagat about her husband Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Chetan revealed how the producer publicly bullied him and drove him close to suicide.
He also blamed Vidhu Vinod Chopra for not giving any credit to his story.
"Ma'am, when your husband publicly bullied me, shamelessly collected all the best story awards, tried denying me credit for my story, and drove me close to suicide, and you just watched, where was your discourse? (sic)," read Chetan's tweet.

However, Bhagat and his book were credited in the end credit. But, the book writer was not happy how the credit was given to him. In an interview in 2010, Bhagat said: “It’s fine that they've given me credit in the rolling credits, but how can they not give me credit for the story? The film is based on my book, they have to give me [credit].”
While the film director, Rajkumar Hirani said that Bhagat was given due credit as per their contract.
Hirani said that in the contract it was mentioned that Chetan will be given credit in the rolling credit, which comes at the end of the film. He further added that Bhagat is lying that his name comes after the junior artist. “His name is after the main artists of the movie. See the movie to believe me,” Hirani had said back then.
3 idiots was released in 2009 which starred Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi, R Madhavan and Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead roles. The film was a huge blockbuster and also became the award-winning film of the year.
