Arjun and Anil Kapoor’s film is off to slow but decent start
Anees Bazmee’s Mubarakan which brought real life uncle and nephew Anil and Arjun Kapoor together has opened well at box office. The film released with two more films Madhur Bhandarkar’s Indu Sarkar and Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Raagdesh
Mubarakan had a huge star cast of Ileana D’ Cruz, Athiya Shetty, Ratna Pathak Shah, Neha Sharma, Pawan Malhotra and others and it got big number of screens too . In India it released in 2350 in India and 475 overseas. It had 20-25 % occupancy on Friday and it collected Rs. 7 crore. Although these numbers are lesser compare to Arjun’s last film Half Girlfriend, which earned around Rs. 10 plus crore on first day. Mubarakan’s budget is around Rs. 70 crore.
Madhur’s film starring Kirti Kuhari and others have been in news for its subject of emergency era. Indu Sarkar got lesser screen 825 compare to Mubarakan and had 10-15 % occupancy. However according to some trade expert the film earned Rs. Rs.1. 75 crore while some reports claim that it earned Rs. 4 crore . The film is said to be made with small budget of Rs. 11 crore.
Tigmanshu’s film, Raagdesh features Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh and Mohit Marwah, the film has got good reviews ,however it had low 5-10% occupancy and according to some trade experts it collected Rs. 0.55 crore while others say it collected 1.50 crore. This film is also made with the small budget of Rs. 10 crore approximately.
Last week’s releases Lipstick Under My Burkha has been doing good business at box office and it has earned Rs. 10.96 crore and Munna Michael has collected Rs. 31.62 crore
