Shah Rukh Khan’s film did not pick up on the first weekend
Imtiaz Ali’s Jab Harry Met Sejal brought together Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma once again on screen. The film received mixed reviews and looks like the audience too has not come out in numbers to watch the film on the weekends. Normally the film’s business jump on Saturdays and Sundays, but Shah Rukh’s film has ended up earning only Rs. 45. 75 crore. It is said that on Monday the business might go a bit up as it is a festival holiday for in some parts of the country due to Rakhi festival. The film has said to have been made on Rs. 80 crore.
Another release of the week was Shanker Raman’s Gurgaon; it starred Akshay Oberoi, Ragini Khanna, Pankaj Tripathi and others. The film released in limited screens but has managed to collect decent money on the first weekend Rs. 6.7 crore.
Next week Akshay Kumar’s much talked about the film, Toilet –Ek Prem Katha is set to have a big release, though it will end up having a box office clashes with a few regional releases.
