Saif Ali Khan’s film Chef opened with low numbers on Friday and could not perform well on the opening weekend, in spite of releasing in good amount of screens in India. The film received mixed reviews and could only collect Rs 4 crore in three days. This is Saif’s second film in a row which has not done too well at box office. Earlier this year Vishal Bhardwaj’s Rangoon, starring Saif with Kangana Ranaut and Shahid Kapoor could not earn good money at box office.
Saif faced tough competition at box office from Varun Dhawan’s Judwaa 2. The film has continued dream run on the tenth day and has collected Rs 116.18 crore at domestic box office. The film also starred Jacqueline Fernandez, Taapsee Pannu and is directed by David Dhawan. Apart from this Rajkummar Rao’s Newton too have been doing well and it has earned Rs. 20.41 crore in two weeks.
No big movies are slated to release next week except for Ranchi Diaries which features Anupan Kher, Jimmy Shergil, Himansh Kohli, Satish Kaushik, and Soundarya Sharma.
