The veteran actor Dharmendra was busy in the promotions of his upcoming movie Yamla Pagla Deewana's third sequel Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se and during the promotions, he revealed the reason why the sequel of franchise turned out a disaster at the box office. He revealed that while shooting for the film he realized that this is not gonna work.
The first time the trio Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, and Bobby Deol came together in the film Apne in 2007, and they followed it by working in the comedy film like Yamla Pagla Deewana in 2011. Both films turned out a hit at the box office, but when the trio came up with the sequel of YPD it turned disaster at the box office.
“Apne had made people cry so I told someone that next time I'll make you laugh. We didn't even have a script or anything ready then. We made Yamla Pagla Deewana. But there's this 'beemari' of franchise and sequel," Dharmendra told PTI.

The He-man of the Bollywood further added, "We had to make a sequel but it was taking time. Things were not falling into place and then even the screenplay wasn't good. I knew while doing the film that it's ‘bakwaas’ (rubbish) and had told the crew that I'm not enjoying shooting it. One knows whether it's going right or not,"
Now the trio is once again back with the third sequel of the franchise Yamla Pagla Deewana and they hope that it will be a comeback film for the franchise.
