Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer film Batti Gul Meter Chalu has not gone up to the marks and it is really a sad thing for Shahid Kapoor who tried something new with this film. The film is directed by Toilet Ek Prem Katha fame director Shree Narayan Singh there were many expectations about the same.
Even though the film started average but it showed some growth on two other weekend days. However, in the opening weekend, the film collected 34.43 crores and it was not even a budget recovery. Although expectations were that the film will see some growth on the second weekend, but in there also the film totally failed.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film Batti Gul Meter Chalu on the second weekend collected 2.83 crores and it surely a disaster for the film starring Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor. With this, the total collection of the film now reaches to 37.26 crores.

Meanwhile, the film is made on the budget of 50 crores and the film failed to recover its budget. After Padmaavat, it was Shahid Kapoor's first solo film and even this he failed at the box office.
