Filmmaker Karan Johar says 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion' will see a historic run at the box office.
Karan's Dharma Productions has got the distribution rights of the Hindi version of the S S Rajamouli-directed fantasy drama.
'When I introduced the film, we can proudly say that the most awaited film of the year is not made in Hindi. It's a masterpiece. It is a pan-Indian film and the credit goes to Rajamouli. The film is heading for a historic run at the box office,' Karan, who was present at the trailer launch of the film here on Thursday evening, said.
Released in July 2015, 'Baahubali: The Beginning' had reportedly earned Rs 650 crore at the box office.
Johar said 'Bahubali' series has inspired a lot of young directors.
'One can conceptualise a film like 'Baahubali' (in Hindi cinema) but no one has done it so far. 'Baahubali' has given opportunities to Hindi cinema. There are many young filmmakers from my company who are inspired by it. I hope it translates into more films like this.'
