Salman Khan fans are excited for the third sequel of Salman Khan's biggest hit franchise Dabangg. Currently, the Tiger actor is busy shooting for the film and according to producer Arbaaz Khan, the shooting of the film has been completed 60 per cent. The character of cop Chulbul Pandey really turned out lucky charm for Salman and soon it became one of his iconic roles.
Recently, producer Arbaaz Khan told how Salman Khan came on board for Dabangg and why the director didn't want to cast him as Chulbul Pandey. Arbaaz Khan told that initially director Abhinav Kashyap who directed the first part of Dabangg franchise wanted to have actors Randeep Hooda and Irrfan Khan for Chulbul Pandey's role.
"When Abhinav narrated the script to me, I asked him why he wasn’t offering me the role of the Robin Hood cop. But more than Chulbul, he saw me as Makkhi, which was an extension of my role in Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na. He was looking to cast Randeep Hooda or Irrfan Khan as the lead then but neither of them had been finalised. I offered to produce the film for him and asked him what if we got Salman on board as Pandey ji. He was instantly excited and things quickly fell in place,” Arbaaz Khan told in an interview.
According to the reports, Dimple Kapadia will reprise her role of Chulbul Pandey's mother Naini Devi in Dabangg 3, but in flashback sequences. Actually, her character has died in the first part and so she was not the part of sequel one.
Arbaaz Khan also confirmed that Mahesh Manjrekar's daughter Saiee will also make her debut with Dabangg 3. She is going to be seen playing Chulbul Pandey's younger love interest. Kannada actor Sudeep is the main villain of Dabangg 3 that is slated to release on 20th December 2019.
