Bollywood superstar, Amitabh Bachchan escaped a dangerous accident last week when one of the rear wheels of his Mercedes car came off. The travel agency from which the car was provided the actor has been sent notice.
Amitabh Bachchan has visited the city to attend an inaugural programme of the 23rd Kolkata International Film Festival and was returning to the airport when the accident took place.

A senior official told PTI, "The wheel on the left rear-end of the Mercedes carrying Bachchan got detached from the vehicle on Dufferin Road when he was going to the airport to catch a flight for Mumbai on Saturday morning."
He even said that the a huge amount of money was paid to the travel agency for transporting the actor. He further said, "The car was provided by a travel agency and we have show-caused it over the incident."
The official further said that the "certificate of fitness" given to the vehicle had expired a long time back but it was still in use. Not only Amitabh Bachchan, a senior state minister was also travelling in the same car.
After the accident took place, Bachchan was taken to the airport in the minister's vehicle that was following the Mercedes, as per reported by the Traffic Police of Kolkata.
