Akshay’s film will release in some otherwise unexplored foreign countries
Barring Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan ,very few actors get huge releases overseas.This time around the makers of Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film Toilet –Ek Prem Katha have decided to release in some non conventional countries of different parts of the world. Besides the conventional North America, UK and UAE markets, it will also be tapping into relatively newer markets like Chile in South America all the way to Greece, Czech Republic, Hungary, Malta, Croatia, Estonia, Latvia in Europe, a first for a Bollywood film. The film is releasing in 22 countries in Europe.
The makers feel that since the film has garnered interest not only from the Indian diasporas but audience internationally. Countries such as Japan and Malta are holding multiple screenings of the film also making it the most anticipated.
Akshay’s film also stars Bhumi Padnekar and is directed by Shree Narayan Singh, the actor states the film is not preachy even though it talks about open defecation. He insists that it is a love story set against toilet backdrop and conveys a message too. The film will release in approximately 3000 screens in India.
