After Uri, Vicky Kaushal confirmed to star in Shoojit Sircar's next Udham Singh, a biopic on freedom fighter

Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal is on cloud nine with the success of his last to last month released film Uri - The Surgical Strike, the film did around 230 crores business at the box office and also called out to be the biggest blockbuster of all time. With this, now the underrated actor has become a star and most demanding actor. Vicky Kaushal is once again all set to play a patriotic role in another film that will surely will several hearts.

Director Shoojit Sircar who gave back to back hits films in recent past with Piku and October is now planning to make a biopic on freedom fighter Udham Singh. Today, it was confirmed that Shoojit Sircar has cast Vicky Kaushal in the leading role of Udham Singh for his biopic on the freedom fighter. This will be the first time when Shoojit Sircar is entering into the biopic zone and also for Vicky Kaushal as a leading hero in any biopic.

 

Earlier, Vicky Kaushal had done a biopic Sanju, a film on Bollywood actor Sanjay's Dutt's life but Vicky's role was actually not totally a realistic as director Rajkumar Hirani compiled his character with many of Sanjay's friends. This definitely has come after seeing the success of Uri and that how Vicky has made his fan following in the audience.

 

Let us tell you that the film will be set in the pre-independence era and the film will release in 2020. Let us tell you that Udham Singh was the freedom fighter who killed General Dayar, responsible for Jalianwala Bagh massacre. He killed General Dayar in London.
