Aamir Khan in a recent media conversation also told that Bhushan Kumar (son of Gulshan Kumar) was keen to cast him to play Gulshan Kumar. He told that Bhushan couldn't see anyone besides him playing Gulshan Kumar. The actor said that after coming on board as a co-producer he offered the film to Akshay Kumar and asked him to reconsider the film. However, things didn't work out and again Akshay denied doing Mogul. Then he also offered Mogul to Varun Dhawan and Kapil Sharma.
“I offered the film to Varun Dhawan, but he was busy with too many films. The other person I was very keen to cast was Kapil Sharma. I felt he’d pull off the character very well. But that didn’t work out either. Then Bhushan said, ‘You’ve done your best, aap puri duniya ghoom kar aa gaye ho, lekin mere father ka role Karna aap hi ko hai. It’s written that you’ll be doing the film’. And the fact is that I love the script, and it’s a great role, so I said yes,” Aamir told to a leading daily.
Noticeably, Aamir Khan is already busy shooting for his next film Lal Singh Chaddha an official remake of Forrest Gump. The film will be directed by Advait Chandan and it will clash with Akshay Kumar's Bachchan Pandey.
