One of the very popular comedy shows of Star Plus in the old times Khichdi happened to entertain the masses with amazing story line and funny characters, one of which was that of Chakki Parekh who was generally seen chanting 'bade log, bade log.' The role was played by Richa Bhadra who played a crucial role in Surpriya Pathak's show. She later did other shows like Baa Bahu aur Baby’ and ‘Mrs. Tendulkar’ but then she was nowhere to be found and her fans wondered as to where she got disappeared.
The actress has now come to light and has finally revealed the reason as to why she bid goodbye to her acting career.Talking about the same she said that casting couch was the major reason behing her quitting her career and not just before marriage, it even happened to her after marriage when she went to audition for various shows. Not only this, she was even body-shamed and made ashamed of her body-type by the makers.
Talking about the same, she said, “I came across a casting director who said, ‘Keep me happy and I will give you work.’ He wanted to meet me at a hotel when I suggested meeting at a coffee shop. That was the end to all my aspirations which I had in the industry. I didn’t want to ruin the image which I had built as a child actor.”
Talking about what people said about her weight she said, "I have constantly been told, “Oh you are too chubby!” This is how I am, this is my body structure." She further said that she has been offered various roles of a fat girl but she did not agree on that tag. Not just this various people even asked her to loose her weight if she wants be in the industry. Not only this she even did not wanted to expose her skin or do romance sequels on the screen since she was from a Gujarati family and that is why she decided to quit.
