The next generation model of one of the country's most popular hatchback – Maruti Suzuki Swift – was recently spotted while it was being filmed for its upcoming TV commercials. The all-new Maruti Suzuki Swift 2018 is slated to be launched in the Indian market in the upcoming Auto Expo 2018, which will be held from February 9 to 14. This is probably the first time when this, much-anticipated hatchback is seen completely undisguised. Even before its launch, the upcoming Swift is already started receiving an overwhelming response from the car enthusiasts and critics alike.

Based on a completely new HEARTECH platform, the next generation Swift is a major upgrade over its existing model. This is the same platform on which the new generation Swift Dzire is based. Being around 10 – 15% lighter from its predecessor, the new HEARTECH platform is likely to deliver a combination of greater power and better fuel economy. Powered by a stronger and lighter chassis, the Maruti Swift 2018 hosts a completely new design and a basket full of new generation features.

Moreover, the chassis of the car is around 10 percent stiffer as compared to the previous generation model, which blesses the new model with a lower center of gravity, offering a more exciting ride. On the styling front, the new Swift is equipped with a range of advanced features including a bold single-frame grille, bug-like headlamps, LED DRLs and projector lens (in top end variant), LED taillights, new center console, twin-pod instrument cluster, SmartPlay Infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The car is powered by the same petrol and diesel engines, which are offered in the current swift model. Expected to be rolled-out in the price segment of Rs 5 lakh onward, the new Swift will be competing with the models like Hyundai Grand i10, Ford Figo, Renault Pulse, Toyota Liva, Honda Brio etc.
