'Will Shah Rukh Khan watch Besharam Rang with daughter?', asks MP Speaker amid Pathaan row
The Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Girish Gautam questioned Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan if he would watch his future film with his daughter in the midst of the uproar surrounding the Besharam Rang song from the film Pathaan.
When asked about the ungoing debate around the movie's music video, Girish Gautam said, “I’m asking Shah Rukh Khan - your daughter has turned 23-24 years old, watch your movie with her. I ask him to watch his movie starring Deepika Padukone with his daughter.”
Since the song Besharam Rang from the movie Pathaan was made public, the movie has been the centre of controversy. Concerns have been voiced by a number of political figures and Hindu groups regarding Padukone's saffron-colored outfit in the song.
Few states, notably Indore in Madhya Pradesh, have seen the performers' effigies set on fire.
Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra raised objections to Deepika Padukone's clothing and the colour of it, requesting for its "rectification", which sparked the row over the song.
If certain sections in the song are not "fixed", the state home minister also forbade the movie from being screened in Madhya Pradesh.
The action thriller movie Pathaan will hit the theaters on January 25 of the following year.
