West Bengal: Babul Supriyo slams Bengal BJP Chief Dilip Ghosh over his 'shot like dogs' remark

The West Bengal BJP unit chief Dilip Ghosh has landed himself in severe criticism for his comments on Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protesters from his own party's member.

On Monday, Union Minister Babul Supriyo hit out at his party member Ghosh for his statement over violence in Uttar Pradesh and Assam during anti-NRC, CAA protests.

Taking to Twitter the union minister said: "BJP, as a party has nothing to do with what a Dilip Ghosh may have said. It is a figment of his imagination and BJP Govts in UP, Assam has never ever resorted to shooting people for whatever reason whatsoever. Very irresponsible of Dilip Da to have said what he said."

Supriyo also called statement made by Bengal BJP chief Ghosh was highly irresponsible.

Worth mentioning, while addressing a rally in West Bengal's Nadia, Ghosh had sparked a controversy when he said that the police in BJP-led states shot the protesters dead like dogs on Sunday.

He had also criticized WB police for not taking action against those who had damaged public properties during the anti-CAA and NRC protests.

"No FIR was registered against such people by Mamata Banerjee's police while on the other hand police in BJP-led states like UP, Karnataka, and Assam shot people for damaging public property because," he had said.
