Shivpal Singh Yadav claims everyone knows BSP supremo Mayawati 'sell tickets'
Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia) (PSPL) President Shivpal Singh Yadav has claimed that everybody was aware that Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati gives candidates tickets in exchange for money during elections.
In response to a related question, Shivpal said, "Everyone is aware that she (Mayawati) sells tickets and buy voters. People should understand that they should not vote for the candidate who has bought tickets by money. "
Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav's cousin and PSPL candidate Shivpal filed his nomination from Firozabad Lok Sabha seat on Saturday. Shivpal is fighting against Mulayam's cousin Ram Gopal Yadav's son Akshay Yadav.
Echoing the similar sentiments, Union Minister of State for Tourism and Culture Mahesh Sharma has accused the Bahujan Samaj Party of "selling tickets by bidding."
In a video that is now viral on social media, Sharma can be heard asking BJP cadre in Bulandshahr how a party which sells tickets to candidates for Rs 20 crore can run the country.
Slamming BSP supremo Mayawati and Samajwadi Party (SP)chief Akhilesh Yadav, Sharma said: "The Bahujan Samaj Party sells tickets by bidding.
How can a party which sells a ticket at Rs 20 crore run the country? If Mayawati and her nephew (Akhilesh) win the ensuing Lok Sabha elections then the infamous 1995 guest house scandal would take place again."
Polling in Uttar Pradesh will take place in all seven phases of polling, starting April 11. Counting of votes will take place on May 23.
