Bengaluru (Karnataka): Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge has recently filed a complaint against prominent BJP leaders, including J P Nadda and Amit Malviya, for allegedly posting defamatory content targeting Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Indian National Congress party.

Accusations against BJP

Priyank Kharge, the Minister for Information Technology and Biotechnology in Karnataka has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of promoting hatred, spreading communal disharmony, and disseminating false information across the country. He claims that the BJP's online presence, particularly its IT cell, has been actively engaged in such activities.

Complaint Filed Against BJP Leaders

Priyank Kharge lodged a formal complaint with the High Grounds Police Station in Bengaluru, naming J P Nadda, the National President of the BJP, Amit Malviya, the head of the BJP IT Cell, and Arun Sood, the BJP's Chandigarh president. The complaint pertains to the release of an animated video of Rahul Gandhi, which Kharge considers to be "malicious."

Allegations of Malicious Intent

According to Kharge's complaint, the video, which was circulated on June 17 via Amit Malviya's Twitter handle, was posted with the deliberate intention of tarnishing the reputation of Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party. Additionally, Kharge asserts that the video aimed to incite communal discord and misrepresent the party and its leaders.

Video's Claims and Impact

The video in question allegedly claimed that the Congress party, led by Rahul Gandhi, is actively engaged in dividing the country and participating in anti-national activities. These accusations, as stated by Kharge, are entirely baseless and defamatory.
