Diwali 2022 Lakshmi Pujan: List of items needed for Lakshmi puja
This year, Diwali, the festival of lights, will be celebrated with pomp and religious zeal on October 24. Diwali is one of the main festivals of the Hindus, and it is believed that the festival brings light, love, and prosperity.
During the time of the grand festival, Lakshmi Puja, Govatsa Dwadashi, and Dhanteras Puja will take place.

We have prepared a list of samagri required for Lakshmi Puja:
- Idols: Lord Ganesh and Goddess Laxmi are worshipped during the puja. You can purchase small idols of the god and the goddess from the market.
- Lamp: Purchase five big earthen lamps and 25 small earthen lamps from the market
- Kalash: earthen Kalash is required to keep water
- Flowers and tulsi leaves: Flowers, bilva, tulsi leaves, and garlands made of flowers, are required for puja.
- Sweets, paan leaves: Fruits, sweets, paan leaves, and sugarcane are necessary samagri for the puja.
- Account books: As Diwali is considered as the new year of Hindus, businessmen use new account books to ring into the new financial year.
- Silk cloth: Purchase a red silk cloth from the market for Goddess Lakshmi
- Red cloth: Purchase a red cloth (cotton) for the seating of the idols.
- Stool: A clean stool to place the idols for the puja
- Pancha pallav, duba: Durva grass, twigs of mango tree, bakul tree, palash tree, banyan tree and peepul tree from the pancha pallav are also needed.
- Sarvosadhi: Make Sarvosadhi from these ten herbs - Mura, Bach, Kushtha, Jatamasi, Shaileya, Daru-Haradi, Haradi, Champak, Musta and Soonthi.
- Sapt-mritika: Mud collected from elephant stable, horse stable, ant heap, cow shelter, river confluence, lowland and royal palace.
- Akshata: If any item is missing from the puja samagri list, Akshata can be used as a remedy
