Bollywood actor Salman Khan and nine other actors have been sued by an Indian-American promoter for cancelling the concert that was scheduled at Sears Centre Chicago despite taking the booking amount.

Apart from Salman other actors who have been sued for "Million Dollar Breach" are Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif, Prabhu Deva, Sonakshi Sinha, Akshay Kumar singers Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik and Usha Mangeshkar.

The Vibrant Media Group which specialises in live Bollywood shows filed a lawsuit against the Bollywood actors and their agent Matrix India Entertainment Consultants Private Limited and Yashraj Films Private Limited for contract breach.

The event was organised in the year 2013 and artists were to perform live to celebrate '100 years of Indian Cinema' that was held on September 1 the same year.

However, the show was cancelled because Salman Khan was not allowed to leave India under legal troubles in Rajasthan.

keeping the legal trouble in mind, the concert was postponed but then neither the actors turned up nor did they return the deposit amount. The lawsuit also mentions that the actors then accepted the proposal of another promoter.

In a statement, the group said, "All calls to Mr Khan, his agents, and other artists, for the return of the funds have gone unanswered." In the lawsuit, the group sought damages of at least USD 1 million.

The lawsuit mentioned that Salman Khan paid more than USD 200,000 to Salman Khan in advance, paid USD 40,000 to Katrina Kaif and  USD 36,000 to Sonakshi Sinha. But, none returned the amount.

The lawsuit has been filed in Northern District Court of Illinois on June 10 this month.
