Trump's Attorney Michael Cohen under serious legal jeopardy as FBI raids his office
Present Attorney of US President Trump, Michael Cohen is being investigated by the federal bureau for campaign finance violations and bank fraud.
One of the FBI agents confirmed that on Monday Cohen’s Manhattan office, home and hotel room was raided. Records of clients, personal finances was seized. Among all other records, there were records of payment made to porn star Stormy Daniels who allegedly had a sexual encounter with Trump.
Investigating officers raided his office at Rockefeller Center and seized his computer, phone and records of personal finances. A source confirmed that this raid was a part of a Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller investigation and this is a way of escalating legal jeopardy.
This investigation started while Trump was sitting with the military leaders. Calling it a disgrace, Trump said, " He and his administration are the subjects of unfair, baseless and misguided investigations," He also added that he has gone through this witch hunt for long and its an attack on the country in a true sense.
Earlier Cohen had accepted that he had done a payment of $130,000 in October 2016 to porn star Stormy Daniels. Last week for the first time Trump opened up about the scandal. He said he knew nothing about the transaction.
Although he was never directly involved in Trump campaign he remained as a close aide of his longtime boss. Throughout 2016 he has been with Trump from Trump Tower office to presidential transition. In 2017, he resigned from Trump Tower office and worked as his personal attorney.
