Trump-Kim summit to take place at the same hotel where Madonna and Lady Gaga prefer staying

The one-day summit is scheduled on June 12. It is expected that there can be a trilateral meeting between President Moon Jae-in, Trump and Kim-Jong-Un but White House has not confirmed the meet yet.

Last week, there were reports that preparation for the event is in full swing at the resort and a US delegation planning the event is staying at the resort. Cappella was selected as the venue as it is a Singaporean-owned hotel.

The hotel boasts of a newly redesigned bar. It boasts of bespoke rum called "Navegante," which is featured in its signature old fashioned, negroni and pina colada cocktails.

The resort where Kim and Trump would hold the summit is a perfect amalgamation of modern and colonial-style buildings. The property overlooks 30-acre rainforest with the South China Sea as a backdrop. It is best known for its high-end golf courses, amusement parks.

Pop stars like Madonna and Lady Gaga have stayed at the Capella hotel when they visited Singapore.

Why this is the perfect venue

The lush-lush property is situated a quarter mile off the coast. 710 meters road is the only connectivity between island and Singapore so it is easy to block traffic.

The property does not hold high-level political meetings, unlike Shangri-La, which holds a security summit in 2015 between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou.

Initially, officials were leaning toward the Shangri-La, but then US team decided the venue for the big day.
